Handle With Care
My Bike
After years of disregarding cycling as even remotely enjoyable I decided it was time to get fitter and a bike seemed the best way to go about it.
Popping down to Halfords as any innocent fresh faced person would I spotted a nice Gleaming bike! It was in budget and seemed ok spec’d. It was also on sale, Brilliant!! A quick online order a dash back to part with the cash, a shiny new Carrera Vulcan disc was mine! After cycling home in the snow (typical) Something didn’t feel right and a trip back to Halfords was in order. Multiple trips with front and rear derailleur issues a broken rear derailleur led to a replacement bike. Then while leisurely cycling on the replacement cycle the bolt on the bottom bracket decided to snap! At this point I decided that a DIFFERENT bike was the answer. That bike was the Voodoo Boker.. The first time I rode it, it felt brilliant! Responsive, Quick accelerating and smooth. Its so Far gave me no trouble! Although its very skittish on wet tarmac, As this winter has proved. I have to say thanks to the people at Halfords for being so helpful in trying to fix the problems in those early days.
